Track prep for Friday at Chuckwalla includes fitting my Wilwood BBK on the front. Last time it didn't fit by hitting wheel weights, relocated them and no issues that time.
Issues came after, I didn't bleed the brakes and they had no feel of course with air in the system. Luckily did my test driving in a parking lot. The bleed presented an issue itself though, each front caliper has 2 valves, and I couldn't get the bottom one on either open... Tiny little nut keeping it on, maybe like 5-6mm and smallest wrench I had was 8 mm. Got the tops open with a small vice grip, but couldn't get an angle for the bottom. Good enough stopping power to drive on while I figure out how to get the bottoms done.
Also, got a mystery noise coming from the front somewhere now, happens when revving the car, in gear, or in neutral, or at low speeds, and I'm pretty sure at high speeds but I just can't hear it over road noise. Trying to diagnose that before Thursday when I drive up to the track.

Prepping for a tune and summer in AZ. New Mountune radiator, Mountune hoses, 180 degree ford thermostat.
Fresh oil change, Also replaced junky clear boost line with a good turbosmart one. Don’t be like me and do it right the first time. Those clear lines suck parts of it was almost pinched shut.
Was getting the orange wrench light and thought oh it’s just the oil reminder I’ll reset it with the brake reset. Didn’t reset tried a bunch of times. Plugged in forscan, coolant low code. Duh, topped the coolant off, tried the brake reset, boom wrench goes off. Reset codes all good to go now. So the wrench light does let you know other issues other than oil change I did not know that before.

That's interesting about the wrench. I thought it was only for oil life.

So I'm trying out a new tune, an E30 tune from Dizzy... and god damn o_O

I actually still miss the difference in WOT throttle feel from the AdaptX tune in comparison but it's so easy to tell Dizzy's is making more power all the time. Nothing unexpected there though, exactly as you'd think comparing these two options. But damn you guys, E30 is pretty wild. Now 3rd feels insanely good, 4th is improved, pulls a little further into the powerband and the unsung hero is honestly the custom rev hang you get with a Dizzy tune. It feels perfect for me.

Normally people on here are complaining about it. You're the first person I've read, complimenting it.

After noticing a warning in the manual about revving the engine then shutting ot off, I had began warning people against eliminating the rev hang under the suspicion that it's there to help protect the turbo via sustained oil flow following a pull. (it can take time for the turbine to spin down - as opposed to the engine)

Doesn't the rev hang annoy you when shifting fast, especially at higher rpm? I had Jason turn it off in my tune and that's one of my favorite things about it. I feel like with rev hang it's hard on the drivetrain because it jerks badly unless your super slow off the clutch.

I’ve honestly never noticed it. It’s way less of a hang than stock. Almost feels normal?

Admittedly if I'm really trying to go fast I'll utilize flat foot shifting so I haven't really gotten a sense for if it gets in the way banging through gears. But for my rhythm of spirited driving it doesn't feel like it's there at all. I'll try to keep my senses tuned to that though, especially since if I want it off down the line that's not an issue hahaa! Liking it for now though.

I'm pretty sure I saw a comment from you reminding me that the Sheetz around us typically have E85 and that's when it really got me thinking. Painless though. Loaded the tune onto the AP, drove down to Sheetz with a 1/4 tank of 93 octane left and aimed for the recommended ratios (with potentially a touch more E85 to be safe), flashed to the E30 tune and it's been great all day!
