I believe they teased that they are..
I should give them a call and verify...really like the direction in which cp-e's intake is designed using the stock air ducting...also has a great show quality to it....

They're 20 minutes from me. I need to drive over sometime to check it out and also drive their ST that has their new torque limiter installed.

yes, I would also agree that they have teased a concept much like what is shown. It does have some interesting design elements that I like. Conical filter, mostly sealed box, and nice tubing going to the turbo.

I guess the sealed design of cp-e though would reduce te amount of noise coming from the turbo? Would it not sound as nice as say an injen intake that is not sealed?

WAI?? o_O

I dunno, I felt like the car was much snappier and more responsive with the Injen intake in it, I have a drop in panel filter and a modded OEM airbox at the moment (I was expecting to need to demonstrate how to install the COBB cold air intake.) and the response is notably slower, modding the airbox helped but the blow off valve noise is no longer super loud like it was with the Injen type of intake.

Intake air temps do get higher with the injen; but overall it's a lot of fun for the money and you will feel it in the seat of your pants. it's not millions of horsepower or anything earth shattering, just response is faster, you can hear the turbo much MUCH more and get the cool BOV noise you want, which is the main thing here for the purpose of this discussion - you wanted that BOV noise - with the added benefit of slightly more power. You might find your mileage will go down because the fun boosty noises will lead you to drive with a much heavier foot x_X

I keep wondering when we're going to see the Cobb Fiesta ST intake and SEMA is NEXT MONTH so um yeah I am not convinced we'll see an intake get released before SEMA. And you have the EcoBoost mustang coming which draws more focus from us, but at the same time it does also bring more aftermarket attention to the ecoboost family of motors.

If you follow Mishimoto's blog they're already analyzing the hell out of the thing and looking for weak points and many of them are shared with our cars

Like the OEM FMIC being a piece of crap
Thanks for this comment btw. I'm 90% sure I'm getting the Injen intake now. I'm a poor college student so any upgrades will be cheap, and for cosmetic purposes alone. Can't afford an AP, FMIC, DP, etc for now so I just want to maximize the "fun" aspect of the car (which should be cheaper). Thanks!

If you are a poor college student why get a part that doesn't really do anything? I'd put your money in a tune. Best bang for the buck.

Agree, it is the most cost effective change you can make.

Because I know myself. If I start performance modding now, I'll never stop. Keeping things cosmetic makes the already fun fiesta st more interesting. Besides, a cheap intake, a cbe, and some minor interior changes aren't much compared to a new FMIC, AP, TBE, and a mountune intake. Lol that's the dream though!

I get it but my point still stands. A tune will get you the best bang for buck out of everything you listed.

Do you even need an AP? Can't you just goto a pro-tune location and get it tuned one time? Like $300 give/take ? No AP3, but your car would be a different car.

The customer needs an AP to be pro-tuned.

So AP cost + pro-tune cost.

Not to go completely off topic bit what's the difference between a pro tune and having randy and/or Freektune do a custom map based off your mods?

Intake wise I must agree you dont notice much on the butt dyno. The auditory sensation is a nice one though. my car sounds like a pissed off dolphin which is music to my ricer ears. I also have more than an intake to make the noises but at i think 275 bucks total it was a nice addition.

Tune wise I would like to get one eventually but I struggle with spending 500 + dollars for a bit better oomph in my DD.

They're the same thing. Randy's custom tune and FreekTune's custom tunes are pro tunes.

Anything that is not an off the shelf map, and is tuned for just your car is a pro tune.

I miss being in the GM world and having access to HP Tuners and EFI live.

Cobb AP + AccessTuner = basically same thing at almost the same price.

In the Mitsu and subaru world you have access to a complete tuning solution for under $200.

Most other platforms are more $$$ than that. When I was tuning my Golf R myself it cost me $800 and the software and support sucked.
