I just had my 70,000 mile servicing (at 65,000) miles. I've had my mp215 kit in since about 6,500 miles and I seem to recall that it is recommended that the plugs be changed every 10,000 miles with that tune. I did that (for only the second time. I've been going about 20,000 on a set of plugs) but also had the air filter replaced (with another mountune unit). As long as it was going in for servicing, I had them install my set of Bilstein B8s that I've had for a few months.

I have noticed an immediate improvement in the fuel economy (It's been degrading slowly over the years) and the car seems more peppy. It's easy to forget how good these cars are when they age and the little things that should be done accumulate. I've taken it to the dealer for service every 6 months since new, but this last one gave me back all the zing for which I originally purchased the car (AND the tune).

Just a reminder to all... replace those plugs and filters.

YMMV
My 2¢

Oh, I know there are many who won't let a dealer touch their cars and/or would rather do their own maintenance. Been there, done that, I'm old, and hate working on cars but love to drive.

Do you remember where you saw the recommendation that plugs be changed every 10,000 miles with the MP215 kit? I don't put too many miles on the car so I have made up my own maintenance schedule which is a lot more frequent than the factory one, which says to change plugs every 100,000 miles in the regular Fiesta manual and in the ST supplement. I planned to change the plugs at 50,000 miles or so at the latest.

you only have to check the gap, very likely they last longer than 10k

Does anyone know the correct part number for our spark plugs? The ST manual lists it as CYFS12Y2.
However on the Mountune site and on Whoosh Motorsports it lists it as CYFS-13Y-RC.

Just did a new set of plugs and a new ITG filter for the new race season. Also on the MP215 software.

Probably the air filter had the most affect on the pep. Ford recommends changing the stock air filter every 30K (just did mine with the stock paper filter at 31K). If your original filter was closing in on 60k-70k of use, the engine is probably breathing a bit better. I think 100K on a spark plug change is pushing it, and 10k seems excessive. Spark plugs aren't that expensive but do quite of bit of work so not a big deal to change them out with some frequency. I will probably do a 25k-30k frequency change (maybe to coincide with the air filter change). I use one-step colder plugs: NGK 6510 LTR71X-11 (~30 bucks).

I swapped out the factory plugs @ ~18K miles, only because I wanted to try the Rutheniums, and because; short tripping, LSPI, direct injection, etc., so I figured it could not hurt.

The Motorcraft NGKs (or whoever makes them for Ford) looked good, so I will probably also go for ~30K miles on these Rutheniums (still on factory tune for now).

The factory paper filter was out at 8K miles, and I swap it out about once a year now with a new Motorcraft, because of working VERY VERY dusty ARA rallies (and it is a super fine micro 'corn starch' type dust up on the forestry roads of Maine and New Hampshire, so it gets everywhere).
Bought many at a time from Rock Auto, they are not too costly (and that saves on their marked-up shipping costs), so it is not a major expense, nor inconvenience. [wink]

First fill up since the servicing. roughly 10% fuel economy increase....

When I gave them the filter the service manager said that they may not be able to install an "aftermarket" filter. I explained that the part came is listed in the Ford Performance catalogue, told them the aftermarket
parts had been installed at a FORD racing shop and the car was listed with FORD as having been modified. ... No problem after that with the install. In fact they had quoted me one price (I assume from "the book") for the Bilstein install, but when I got the call that it was done they price was lower. They just charged the shop hourly rate. It must have gone easier than "the book" said.... Makes me trust the shop even more.
