That's insane two and half months to ship and finish building . I hope when Meagan PM me back it's not that bad.. Im pretty sure I'll cancel it at that point.. I need a car starting next Monday. And if the 4-6 the dealer told me or even the 8-10 which was a better estimate they updated it to. I'd be getting it maybe a week after I needed a car. If they told me anything more than 12 weeks I'd never had ordered the car. If they said 19 I'd laughed and walked out.

There are plenty of them on the lot and as the model year is coming to an end. I'll likely get a better deal now with extra options that I didn't want. But probably pay the same.
I was thinking the same thing but there are no FiST's around here that are Ingot silver with just Recaros...so basically I just have to eat it and smile...HOPEFULLY it doesn't take 10 WEEKS to ship a car from
MEXICO to RI!!!! At least it won't take 6 months like Rodmoe's car...anticipation has turned into being pissed off...this delay better be because Ford decided to fix some glitches on the line rather than some bullshit reason
like the weather...it's Freakin' Mexico and the southwest not Antarctica!!! And it's a railroad!!!...I'm losing it...

I don't buy the weather thing.

And if house cat got a VIN in three weeks and ours took 6-7 something happened that isn't being disclosed. Especially knowing my order was placed as 1. I'm also told that them accepting the order is usually the longest wait. Now im told production to shipping is the longest at a typical two months.

I don't get why they estimate 8-10 weeks. I'd have never have ordered one if I was told 15-18 weels. I would have walked into a dealer this week and drove one home.

When I followed up with Meagan she said the Eta are spot on. A few members said they got theres a day or two before. If anything changes it would be more delays.

Just checked my ETTX # and the car has made it to Atlantic Canada and is only 300km (180 miles) away! Will have to travel over 100km by truck though since my province doesn't have any railroads. Only 9 more days till my ETA!!

I was told on March 19th that:

"This is regarding the order you have placed with our agent for a 2014 Ford Fiesta. Although factory has closed their books for the 2014 Ford Fiesta which means factory is now accepting the order for the 2015 model year. In your instance, we have requested factory if they would be willing to build a 2014 Ford Fiesta on best effort basis. Your order will now be placed with the factory and will be able to confirm build of this vehicle only once factory assign a production slot. I will be closely monitoring your order and will keep you posted on the updates."

but they ended up getting the order in

I'm growing frustrated like many of you. My ETA from Ford was 3/31. Dealer still doesn't have my car and isn't even sure if the 4/5 date they gave me is realistic. I'm concerned that my car was damaged in shipping or something like that. As of yesterday I'm at 15 weeks.

I am not sure of the changes in the 2014 from the 2015 but there is probably a few things they changes out for the new models. So I would guess all the 2014 would be finished at least a few weeks before the 2015 start getting made

A quicker order to delivery is possible, here was mine;

Order Date: 1/2
Vin. Issued: 1/9
Window sticker available 1/31/2014 11:30 PM
Build Date: 2/17/14 confirmed on ETIS
Loaded to train: 2/21 estimated as its off the train as of 3/1/14
Projected Customer delivery per Ford: 3/11
Delivery Date: 3/7

I am really not sure why a VIN would take 6-7 weeks when it took 9 to get my car. If I was looking at a June delivery I would honestly cancel and reorder a '15. Has anyone seen the order sheet yet, curious if anything is different.

My dealer was showing no info on my car because the system was updated so that meant my original order number was obsolete...got a new order number from dealer, then I obtained a vin...it's just that I waited 8 weeks to finally ask Meagan what was up with the no vin situation....blah blah blah anywhooo hoo... was that an owl???

Our order dates are just about identical and the delivery dates match up for the first one they gave me, then i got hit with the 3 week delay a lot of people seemed to get caught up in. Wonder what happened to cause it.

Spoke with the GM at my dealership a few hours ago. He was in total agreement about June being ridiculous to wait. He said my vehicle was in production phase I guess but wasn't scheduled to start until the week of April 7th. One system showed may 15 and the other June 20. We both agreed that June 20 was probably more likely based on past experience. He said the 8-10 week is usually how long it takes once ford starts production to Eta. But for all of us we have been waiting 6-8 weeks for production to begin.

He also mentioned he ordered one back in January, a base model ST in PB for the dealership. That is expected to arrive mid April. He's yet to have one and they move a lot of cars there.

He also mentioned they are shutting down the plant next week. Nothing like rushing out the last of the 2014 orders. My guess is they either slowed or stopped production for a bit, which is why guys that ordered in March are starting production at the same time as orders placed in February. They probably wanted to consolidate before shutting down and swapping to the 2015. After all there are quite a few on the lots out there.

He doesn't think lots will see 2015 until September but had no real info on that.

Good news is he said to give him a shout next week and see if the dates discussed are still in play, and if they are I'll be finding something else. Supposedly there's one coming in on the 19th in white to nearby dealer. Hoping it's not already sold. It Has Recaros, moon roof, and Nav. My order was for a base, so ford wins by getting more of my money. I don't want Nav or moon, and after I ordered I decided I wanted to add Recaros but it was too late as of almost three weeks ago to add them. Which pisses me off because it still is just an order on paper. One more reason I probably won't be waiting for my order to arrive. As long as they'll negotiate fairly with the two unwanted options.

Side note... a guy over on fiesta faction posted about ordering an se and he to has a similar wait 17-20 weeks. So not just the ST. But again there are plenty of se on the showroom floors.
