Spoke with the GM at my dealership a few hours ago. He was in total agreement about June being ridiculous to wait. He said my vehicle was in production phase I guess but wasn't scheduled to start until the week of April 7th. One system showed may 15 and the other June 20. We both agreed that June 20 was probably more likely based on past experience. He said the 8-10 week is usually how long it takes once ford starts production to Eta. But for all of us we have been waiting 6-8 weeks for production to begin.
He also mentioned he ordered one back in January, a base model ST in PB for the dealership. That is expected to arrive mid April. He's yet to have one and they move a lot of cars there.
He also mentioned they are shutting down the plant next week. Nothing like rushing out the last of the 2014 orders. My guess is they either slowed or stopped production for a bit, which is why guys that ordered in March are starting production at the same time as orders placed in February. They probably wanted to consolidate before shutting down and swapping to the 2015. After all there are quite a few on the lots out there.
He doesn't think lots will see 2015 until September but had no real info on that.
Good news is he said to give him a shout next week and see if the dates discussed are still in play, and if they are I'll be finding something else. Supposedly there's one coming in on the 19th in white to nearby dealer. Hoping it's not already sold. It Has Recaros, moon roof, and Nav. My order was for a base, so ford wins by getting more of my money. I don't want Nav or moon, and after I ordered I decided I wanted to add Recaros but it was too late as of almost three weeks ago to add them. Which pisses me off because it still is just an order on paper. One more reason I probably won't be waiting for my order to arrive. As long as they'll negotiate fairly with the two unwanted options.
Side note... a guy over on fiesta faction posted about ordering an se and he to has a similar wait 17-20 weeks. So not just the ST. But again there are plenty of se on the showroom floors.
