Holy f—k glad I found this post. i did a big mouth and a whoosh V1 intercooler. View attachment 66359
That bolt was the hardest part. I’ll get the bumper back on tomorrow.
I buttoned up the front end.

The only issue I saw when I turned it on before I took it off the jackstands was a fog light I forgot to plug back in. Next steps is rear door speakers and dynamat, rear subframe bushings and chasing the leaks that are soaking my rear passenger carpet. Might as well dynamat the roof if I pull the headliner.

Put on some new OEM mounts on the passenger and driver side since my Tranny one was starting to tear. Idle is so smooth now. Also XDI HPFP coming soon 👀

My springs, isolators and rear axle bushings finally came in.............an hour before I had to leave for 2 days, so I drove the Rabbit into Dallas. Got the FiST in "hover mode" (up on jack stands with the wheels off). Freakin USPS strikes again. Those parts were supposed to be in on the 29th and got delayed, they got to Coppell on the 29th, sat there for a few days, went to Dallas, sat there for a few days, then were "in transit" for 3 days to the post office hub in my town, which is only an hour drive from Dallas. I always sigh when I see someone shipping me something via the Post Office.

Want to be able to haul my big bike with my little car so I installed a Curt hitch. Legit half hour install, would be 10min on a hoist.
I forgot the hitches for both the Fiesta and Rabbit are at the house waiting to go on. Guess I'll be doing that while I have the car up on stands as well :D I forgot to order the trailer wiring though, I'll have to drop an order for that.

I have no plans to tow a trailer so I didn't bother with wiring. Just a small bike rack so I don't have to use my gas guzzler to go ride.

And people say the fiesta isn't practical... Purchased some suction cup mounted roof rails and kayak mounts! Works surprisingly good, I don't have much faith in the cups but they held up in decent cross winds 🤷🏼‍♂️ 1000006096.jpg

Got the Bilstein B6s and stock springs on, Konis are waiting for the dumpster and the Eibachs will go that way too if no one wants them.

Went ahead and replaced the swaybar links since I had them and had to take them half way off to do the struts anyway. Decided not to do the control arms, swaybar bushings or rear axle bushings for now as everything is still nice and tight. They went on the spare parts shelf for now.

The car still handles fantastic but now I don't have to dodge the trucks ruts as much as I did before.

Yes, many on here would most definitely vehemently hate on, or at least not 'appreciate' what that sticker represents. [thumb]
I plead ignorance.

Clever.
Thank you. 👍😎
I confess I've radicalized a bit since installing it, but most people who use the symbol in modern times are like, "yeah well, two outta three." I haven't found a suitable replacement from a visual perspective - ie, another round decal of the same size that more accurately represents my beliefs - so it stays on.

Anyway, car's been running fine with a new coolant tank and coolant, but god I never want to have to do that job myself again just because it's such a wretched design. Should have sprung for a metal coolant tank instead of trying to mash that piece of brittle plastic into place in my apartment parking lot.

Up next for me is going to be a full detail, I think, though I also need to do an oil change, a few other bits and bobs in the interior, and to finally get my backup camera wired in after all these years.

For a long time I've had some dartiness in the steering that I chalked up to my zero toe alignment, but today (yesterday actually) I reset PCM adaptations using Forscan (clearing all the “drift pull compensation” learning), and all of a sudden my steering is shockingly so much smoother and precise. Probably worth doing if you've ever done suspension or a custom alignment.

Wrote a little more about it here:

I used these for the Front:
https://a.co/d/fYWsbWX

And ordered these but haven’t installed in the Rear:
https://a.co/d/e90yBoC

I think they’re interchangeable but haven’t confirmed
@akiraproject24 i did confirm the front and rear are the same.

I put adapter rings, rubber baffles, and sound deadening in the rear doors. It kinda bumps for a quartet of 6.5” speakers.

fronts:

rears:

baffles:

and I used the metal-backed rammat that I had in my garage for probably a decade.

I replaced my factory-original inner tie rods and outer tie rod ends on both sides. There were all kinds of interesting clunking noises while maneuvering in parking lots, and now all is quiet with the four fresh ball joints. Used all OEM parts from Tasca.

How many miles did you get on the originals?
