So glad to live in SoCal where we don't have to worry about having different tyres for different seasons.

Don't have to run different tires for different seasons in Atlanta, but I don't know if I would run summer tires year round.

@M-Sport fan - The FL400S was used on the 1.9L SOHC 88HP Ford Escort engine back in the early 1990s. They later downsized the FL400S. This was taken sometime between 2008 and 2010...

Caption: Left - Original, larger FL-400S Motorcraft oil filter. Right - New smaller FL-400S Oil Filter. Note, the 'designed and engineered by' clause has been removed. Part number remains identical.

The better (Ultra/Endurance) Fram filters are closer to that older, larger FL400S.

@Grsemky & @M-Sport fan - While my 1.9L SOHC engine's oil was unbelievably clean engine even at 320,000+ original miles, this turbo engine darkens it up almost as quick as it's put in there.

Keeping in mind that simulated intelligence can (and did in this case) make up stuff...

Nixed a minor pet-peeve... the sagging noise insulation on the hood. Slit and a zip-tie, leaving no slack for vibration related wear...

That's exactly what I did. But ever since I installed the Mountune radiator the clearance doesn't allow it to slip past with the engine side of the filter facing up. I had to face engine side up as usual and then pull really hard to slip it past the rubber hoses. When installing the new filter it got scratched from the metal hose clamp.

It’s a tight fit for sure with the Mountune rad and FL400s but I always manage to slip it out with no trouble. I remember I used to run an even bigger Wix (56569?) filter with the stock rad and I determined I couldn’t do that with the thicker Mountune rad

Yeah I'll definitely have to try fitting an fl400s next oil change. Or just do a filter relocation lol

I second the Black Magic cream and spray.
I also have used the Chemical guys VRP with similar results however I don't think it last as long.

Waxing my entire exterior I applied some sort of wax/sealer to my trim some years ago and the plastics have been looking sun-bleached ever since. Nothing I can do about it. 😕

Installed Powerflex engine and transmission mount inserts. Tightened everything up and no more clacking over bumps and humps.
Next up will be upgraded intercooler and radiator.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. And Swift springs.

Installed a V1 intercooler yesterday and it did NOT fit at all with trimming the lower dam. I even left off the bottom support. Headlight wouldn't go back in properly and it broke a tab. Had to pull it back apart today and trimmed even more off of it (almost to the point where it was barely mountable). Finally everything went together correctly, but man it was not fun.

The performance is night and day different, even in 50F weather.

Interesting. I just installed the V3 and it went in no issues. Just had to remove the middle bracket for the air dam

I was looking at the V1 and it was sold out, the v3 was sold out too. Ron said to grab the V3, but by the time everything was in stock again I just grabbed the V1. No plans for big turbo or anything so why not...

Big mistake, should of just did the V3.

Maybe mine was unusual and could have return it, but the bottom mount holes lined up and the top pegs fit in...so I just took the path of least resistance.

Here's something different. I use the hell out of my Fiesta to haul a lot of camping, running and photography equipment. I took the back seats out over a year ago, never put em back in. I was getting annoyed with putting everything in the back in a weird way so I used some leftover 30x30 extruded aluminum t-slot to build this.

Eventually I'm also going to build an "addon" platform that will take the place of the passenger seat, which should all me to sleep in the fiesta when I need to(winter/rain).

This, plus my thule roof rack and hitch platform mean I can haul a lot of stuff. It's pretty funny. Plus I can still pull ~37mpg on the freeway/interstate with all this gear.

Nice work. How are you mounting the roof rack/box? Body clamps? Or is there a mounting option under the roof strips?
