Haha. Good eyes. I had a flat on one of my gravel tires before tech, and stupidly only brought one snow tire spare. Ended up with stock rears. They are some pretty old cooper rally tires I got from a local rallycrosser. The pilot sport rears were nice and slidey. Maybe that made for easier initiation and oversteer. I don’t have a great gauge yet though this was my first Motorsport race. The car was very predictable and I could throttle out of a turn easily.

Believe I've found my oil problem. When I replaced the PCV hose I noticed I was getting some blue/white smoke, I thought I blew out a seal or something. I put the catch can in and it went away but the can wasn't the best for my power and I ended up removing it and just doing a straight hose with the UPR 100 psi check valve, and that seemed to work great but I started getting weird blue/white smoke and couldn't figure it out. Opened up the intercooler cold/hot sides and no oil there. Bought that endoscope and checked a few spots initially and saw some oil on the back under the valve cover gasket and thought I blew it out so I replaced that. Was still getting smoke under the hood and small buffs out the back and started to really worry I blew my hotside seals.

Well last night after a drive to warm up the car for fresh leaks I pulled the scope out and started looking for other oil spots. Well, I saw a big blob of oil on the backside of the block (Lower images) and could not figure out where it would come from, then as I was scanning the video I saw I'm missing a stud/nut for the manifold to turbo..

Which means my oil issue is I'm picking up and burning a butt load of oil through the PCV without the catch can installed (I checked the hose and it has so much oil in it) and I only didn't notice it for so long as my OEM PCV pipe had a tiny crack in it and was bleeding the oil into my engine bay ever so slowly as a vacuum leak. When I fixed that I happened to have a stud fallout of my turbo which caused the unburnt oil to spill onto the back of the block and slowly burn off, and what ever didn't get there was getting into my turbo and downpipe and slowly burning off there which would explain the absolutely random way the smoke would come out the backside under no set condition.

Answer, put a catch can back in and fix this darn stud.

Melted out the old ball stud and added a threaded rod n bolt with a new extended ball studs on top. The clamping force holds it in good but imma add some epoxy as well. Hoping this works out if not I'll just have to reduce the length of the extension a bit. I got the idea from Reddit
