Recently finished up an intercooler install and Cobb Stage II flash. Banged third today and heard a loud pop with loss of torque. No lights or anything. When I parked I confirmed it was the drivers side intercooler hose. It’s a whoosh V1 with OEM hoses. Does anyone recommend upgrading the clamps or should I just put it back and tighten it up again?

I would definitely upgrade the clamps and possibly the hoses as well, I used to have a lot of issues on track with it popping off upgraded to the whoosh ones and no issues since.

Also, you could try the (unscented) hair spray hack as well to help keep said hoses on their IC inlet/outlet flanges.

What is the diameter for me to buy new T-bolt clamps? Just for the IC inlet/outlet?
The two Vibrant T-bolt clamps I used are “range 2.75 inches to 3.10 inches”. I only used them on the inlet/outlet of the intercooler. I bought the clamps from Summit Racing. Their part number is VPE-2793.

I couldn’t figure out a way to do it with the bumper cover on the car, but there’s plenty of people on the forum with much more expertise than I have. I’ll defer to them.
Thanks. I could definitely reach up in there to feel the hose was disconnected, but loathe the idea of taking that dumb thing off again for that. Definitely not trying until the new clamps show up tomorrow. My son has some super hold Mohawk gel that I’ll use to seal it up and make sure this is the last time I’m down there.

Ok so I pulled the dumb bumper off to replace the IC clamps with the Summit T-bolt ones. Used some of my son’s Mohawk gel as insurance. While I had it off, I installed the yellow lamin-x covers on my fog lights and removed the gray grille from the intercooler area so you can see the IC logo better.

Thanks. I appreciate your help. I got it up on ramps and probably could have just reattached the popped hose but it looked unlikely that I’d be able to swap both clamps and properly reinstall them. The bumper isn’t too bad the second time either. I got it all done in probably under 3 hours tbh. I’m pretty sure the first time it took 3 hours just to get it off.

Billetworks shift knob. Went with yellow in my Kona Blue FiST.
Which knob did you go with? I was thinking of getting the small teardrop in red and blue, since they said the small teardrop works with the reverse lockout mechanism. But I was also looking at the WC lathe guy I've saw others post about.

This works with the lockout. I wanted the purple cosmos heartbeat one but it kept going in and out of stock and I just went with the yellow since it matched a bunch of other stuff I’ve done.

Anybody else have this issue? I changed my IC last summer and all the stock hoses and clamps seemed very secure. I guess I need to hook up the AP and see what my boost levels are at.

I want that one in the lime but I'm not sure I can justify $100 for it
