I'm debating whether or not to go to Vegas and spend some moolah on taking out their GT-R for 10 laps. I'll be 75 in 13 days, so it could be a birthday present. Not interested in the Italian cars at all.

Do it 😁 they're a nice platform, and good luck if you're looking for an unmodified one (ugh).
Oh have lots of experience in the Nissan world from 510’s 240z’ , 240sx’s , G20’s aka Primera’s , Q45’s , Hardbody pickups. I am a Nissan guy at heart have several friends with GTR’s . I was actually thinking about a R35 . If there was a left hand drive R32 I would already own it.
Soon my E36 3/4/5 Boston Green Modena slicktop will see the door for a good amount.

I've seen two LHDs for sale (one local in the Bay Area, CA that was a nightmare basketcase - more of a shell than a car) and another down in Chile (where they're required to convert, like the middle east). Neither were done well and both complete piles of poo'

But yeah, a LHD is kinda my dream, too, but honestly, driving RHD is a nonissue. After 2-3 city blocks you figure it out.

I did a F430 Scuderia for a number of hot laps in Vegas some years ago. Quite fun. Pulled at 100mph what my WRX STI felt like in 2nd.

Also shot a full auto Uzi and a belt fed M60. And a "noisy Cricket" M4 with a 1" barrel that shot flames.

I recommend both.

1” barrel M4 sounds hilariously useless, and I mean that in a good way lol. I bet it’s a riot to shoot but a nightmare to stand next to the shooter unless it’s got a long flash can or something.

My dad had one of these for a while. What an amazing engine
I fully agree! My buddy with a 2005 mustang was suprised when I smoked him on our way to work LoL

A lot of folks were surpised how fast they are. Of course for todays standard its not so fast but I still miss that car till this day. That's why I won't be selling the FiST.

I don’t blame you! No selling of the fist ever for me either. Still kicking myself for selling my Volvo 850R

Wasn’t it a Japanese motor or something?
Yeah, the one dad had was a 3.0 Yamaha V6 with 5 speed manual. The engine was pretty cool - it had short and long intake runners and a butterfly valve would switch between them at 4000 rpm to give more power as it ran up to the > 7k redline. With some mods to the accessory drive, it could rev to 8500

I was looking for a used one to replace my Mk2 GTI 16V which got t-boned hard by a Windstar van and totaled way back when.

But I 'settled' for a '90 T-Bird SC 5 speed manual.

Still a great car! Old man followed the SHO up with a cougar XR7 that shared that a powertrain with the SC but was way uglier lol
