Seriouly though we have to hold people to account for their numbers. Else anyone can post up whatever they like. I love Cobb. Just look at my sig. However, that doesnt mean they get a "pass" on data.

I LOVE cobb's access tuner as well. I just posted on a different thread that the best money you can spend on the car is an intercooler and an access port.

Check this out... I'm gonna leave this lay after this because I feel like I'm beating a dead horse. And like I said before, it really don't truely matter , I'm sure TsT got a good tune anyway.

Stock focus ST with stage 1 on 91oct fuel. At the so. Cal location



This is a stage2 focus ST on 93 oct. It has a cold air intake, FMIC, catback at a location that is NOT at the so cal location.


Am I to conclude that all those mods and a more aggressive tune on better fuel only adds 9whp and loses 9tq ?

Keep in mind this is a focus ST. They see really awesome gains from FMIc normally .

Also... If you look at the 2nd picture. It shows the difference they saw on a focus ST from going from 93oct to E30 ( which is BETTER THAN 100oct ). They gained 10whp and 14lbs of torque ON A FOCUS ST. But on a fiesta ST that WAS ALL READY PRO-TUNED TO 217whp, it gained 23whp on an already maxed out car by adding 100oct fuel ( which again, is not as good as E30 ).

Draw your own conclusions.

Great post. +rep. IDC about numbers usually because they are just numbers. Yet, when I see this crap, it really bothers me. Im gonna say it. There is no way on this planet that what their dyno is showing is correct.

I definitely agree with you on this but all we can really do is speculate until Smoking Tire/ Cobb either posts datalogs and/ or takes it down the quarter mile. I am a Cobb fan too btw. The numbers from this post are like some of the numbers from some of the mustang dynos here in Florida.....the first place I have ever seen mustang dynos to be the higher numbers and the Dynojets to be the heartbreakers. It's usually the other way around, lol.

I'm just wanting to be the first 300whp fiesta on a stock style turbo, so I'm driving 5,000 miles to cali as I speak to get on this magic dyno.

Cobb's database is based on..... Cobb's dyno.

They post any focus ST bone stock numbers in that database? What were they?

I'm also going to ditch my transparency like I work for the national reserve, and when I start posting wicked dyno's in 3 months, I'll just say, "this was on 24.5psi" and expect no one to want data.
How is your turbo any different than any other turbo in that it does the same thing and they all mostly look stock style ?? you left stock when you altered the guts of it so stock is like saying Carl Edwards drove a stock fusion in stock car racing .. twist it as you want it is not stock anymore.. Just saying....

The timing alone that you could add into would allow for the higher HP increase that we all see in Cobbs dyno for the Smoking tire car. 49hp over Stock should not be an issue even with our tiny little turbo. I will be getting some of this fuel to help the community understand more. People have been want good info and questions answered and I would like to help as much as possible.

I recently took my stock car and did VD pulls on the same Road, same day, same temp, same DA, and within a few hours. The pulls were Stage 0(stock), Stage 1, Stage 3, DHM 93oct tune, and DHM e40 tune. I have the Chart to post and hope it helps people see the gains possible. These is just with tuning alone and no bolt ons. I will post the chart when I get home from work.

I'm really glad to see we have someone here on the forum with some real world experience and knowledge to share with the rest of us...

I thought it was interesting which was brought up a few times as to how Razorlab was able to achieve ~240whp/305wtq on a "stock turbo" running e45....

Show me a trap speed. That's the bottom line.

Edit: and not a go-pro, G-tech, motortrend type car tester (which reads max speed in the 1/4 mile). A 1/4 mile trap speed ( which is an average speed at the end of the track ).

I did not know VP101 was oxygenated. I still think in the end, E30 with a 93oct base is better, but I could be wrong, I NO experience with oxygenated fuels. So i hope I'm wrong. What's the going rate on VP101 per gal ? Oxygenated sounds cheap ( I've pretty much made sarcasm my first language, lol. Sorry ). Nitrous would certainly change the "flow" top out on the turbo, lol.

My first question about oxygenated fuel is... How much does it change the fuel density ? If only so much "room" per molecule is in X amount of flow, and you've added oxygen to the "molecule", then wouldn't this remove headroom for the max power output the fuel system could make? Just like Ethanol does. Even thoug ATP has given us zero help in their findings, I'm sure that either EVERYONE is missing something (minus cobb, since they tuned the ATP cars ) or they were using E0 race fuel because my car refuses to handle anymore than E35-E40 fuel at my power level ( which I'm not going to bench race or "fake dyno guess", but its more than 233whp with the true load on the track/street ). So the 330whp cap of fuel with E0 sounds just about dead on.

Glad someone threw a variable in the mix, lol.
The Vp100 would be close to a e15-e20 at the most. As for ATP they should be able to make that power on straight 93. I have done a few 1.6L and 1.8L on GT2860r (not GTX) and made 300-330 on mustang dynos with 20-24psi. But if ATP used a normal c10 or something it would have 0 ethanol and be 110 oct. VP101 is $70 for 5gal. Trust me when I say it will make way more power than any e30-e40 mix. Just damn expensive.

Great info!

VP makes great power so perhaps they made that much but costs a small fortune to use, OK for drag racers or autocrossers but for road race tracks it would be nuts expensive to run.

It would cost around $250-300 per track day here just for fuel.

E30 takes more fuel so less MPG but would cost around $70-80 and is cheap enough for daily drivers and makes great power as well.

Recommended best E tune?

E30, 40, 45?

I am just starting an E30 tune so switching to higher ratio is fine for me and I will take steps to ensure I have what it is tuned for.

I am tuning for road course use and will carry jugs of E85 to places it is not available.

Cyborg turbo, intake, exhaust, ported manifold, etc.......
5200 ft elevation, will be running at sea level to this high, perhaps higher.

Tuned for 91 for the street, multipurpose car, 91 is all I seem to find on the West Coast.

I thought $10 a gal ( or sometimes $8 a gal ) for 100oct was hard to swallow, but $13/$14 for VP101 is just choke worthy. C14 is basically the same price. When your already paying $14 a gal, what's another $2 ? Lol.

Pay to play lol Big HP guys I use to tune were all 1k-2k to tune. ECUs were 5k-7k lol

You would be very surprised how many logs we pull and how much testing we do. Engine will get a rebuild sometimes before hits a an actual event lol.
