Got it, my dad just got a steal on a Yakima box for their Outback [with the handy built-in rails].
We've got an Expedition Max, so it's unlikely that I'd ever really need the extra storage in the FiST. But good to know.

Am I tripping or did I shear my transmission mount? Will update once I got the battery removed 😬. The whole engine jerks and I see my shifter wiggle about an inch and a half during stoping and starting
Are you super hard drag race start launching it on very sticky tires?
TONS of wheel hop if/when you do??

I've never seen or even heard of that happening in these cars in the almost ten years on this forum and nine years of owning a FiST

I've never seen it nor can I find anyone who's had this issue online. It's been raining so I'll get to look at it tomorrow.

I had cobb tc on 4 with cobb stage 2 tune and launched the car from 4k rpms. Drove the car home the remaining 4 miles and didn't notice anything (but I just got off a long shift and was tired ). Turned the car on today and right away noticed the shifter wobbling a shit ton and when I went to drive off CLANK CLANK and all the vibration so I parked and checked.
Car has an LSD and stage 3 clutch with SMF. Stock turbo. Really shocked this happened tbh

Battery acid may drain onto/around that location. Road salt, sediment stream in from underneath headlamp and settle in that area.

Pay attention to the ground wire sitting underneath the battery box, exposed to that battery run-off. It rusts, you can't fix that; can only add other(s) some place else to augment it. Had to do it on the prior car when it started to burn-up alternators.

Hopefully the frame/threads are okay.

Bent my RMM as well since it dropped. I'll be replacing all mounts with VibraTechnics probably. It appears the failure was due to forgetting one of the 4 bolts? I torqued the 3 bolts to spec and used blue threadlocker. One bolt I know I forgot to put in(as I found it in my pile of bolts), the other bolt must've backed out while driving

I'll say it, that fucking sucks.

what I did today: cleaned the fiesta after a week of camping in southern/central oregon. I love how easy to fist is to clean with a vacuum, except for between the front seats. I also re-configured that rack thing that I built so the boards stop falling out of the middle. I used some ratchet straps to get everything tight. I'll probably need to order heavier-duty stuff for this t-slot. The cheap amazon kit I bought uses cheap powdered injection stuff which means if there's any slop in the frame it'll bend and break. Already broke one of the 90degree brackets.

Next upgrade for the rack thingie is to make another section that can go where the passenger seat is. Then I can sleep in the lil beast. I'm 6'1" (6'2" in the morning) so it'll be pretty funny. I live in the PNW so winter camping means dealing with a lot of rain, so sleeping inside would be rad.
