I have the Yokohama AD09s mentioned above, in 215/40-17, mounted on 17x8s and I am much more than impressed with the ride given the short sidewalls (but taller than factory, even on the 1" wider wheels), and relatively high (factory door label) pressures I run them at on the street.

These are also THE quietest 200 tread wear stickies I have ever used on the street, just rolling along, or accelerating (like a quarter of the noise level of the screaming above 20 MPH Federal RS-RRs!).
My 'two season' DWS-06+ almost make more noise, shockingly!

Yes, their grip level is way more than could ever be used legally on the street, but I also wanted that for pure, warm/hot summer use, to experience at least one on this car, and I can still bang some 90* corners at crazy speeds without attracting a lot of attention, given their no sliding (and no noise) at all grip level.

They are wearing quite well so far on the street, which is not too surprising for an 'endurance' type 200 tread wear donut (like the RT615s and Hankook Ventus RS4s, the latter of which has no sizes which we could use on a 17" wheel at all).

They also look great and sit very square on the wheels (not almost stancer stretched like some of the narrower tread width 200 tread wears out there when mounted on an 8" wide wheel), looking almost like a tarmac rally setup, which is what I was going for.

Their only real drawback is their co$t, which is exorbitant, unless you got them on a discount and a rebate like I did, from Simple Tire

I’m down to Falken 615s in 215/49/17, Yoko Leva V701 or Kumhi Sport, I’ll look into AD09s, thanks for the description.

You may laugh, but I'm on my 3rd set of Lionhart's. At around $80 a tyre you can't go wrong. Only ever had one problem with one tyre that was out of round, otherwise. I don't hear any tyre whine on the fwy's and they love cornering! Having a lsd helps too!

There are some hidden gems out there, I am personally running these Armstrong tires and have no complaints at $60 a tire. They claim 300tw, and so far have been plenty of grip for my driving...

Super old reply but, love the plate. Chose the same design when I was registered in AZ.

I’m open to less known brands if it yields me 300tw or less, DOT of course.

I havent really done this today but has been like a couple of days project
who here thinks rally armor mudflaps front bracket sucks with the bolt solder on the bracket? i do, so modified my and ended up like this
View attachment 59217
what i did was:
1) got the bracket with the 2 solder bolts and grid them out then make a hole the same diameter as the bolt that was solder in in the same location (no pictures of this sorry)
2) bought this from autozone
View attachment 59218
3) cut the thing that has the thread from the part that doesnt have a thread from the u-nut, like this:
View attachment 59219
4) hammer the part to make it flat and made it like this:
View attachment 59220 View attachment 59221
5) crazy glue that part to the bracket so it stays in place and you just install the mudflap like usual
been a week since i did this and the installation has been solid, hasn't loosen at all

Just want to say, I just got done doing this exact thing using your steps as a guide. HUGE IMPROVEMENT!! Both in looks and functionality.

Not today, but replaced all 3 motor mounts some weeks ago. To my surprise, turns out a lot of harshness I was getting going over bumps were not because of coilovers but because I guess the engine was hopping up and slamming back down on the frame unchecked since both top mounts were completely shot. Shifting became much smoother as well especially while in a turn.

Like the first set, this one (both OEM) has worn out after about 5 years.

I need to do this also. I’m shopping aftermarket though.

Got a new trunk cover from Amazon. Decided to make a good support for it BEFORE it started to sag like my previous one. Instead of only 1 support I made it across all corners then riveted in place. I also took the time to do what Jeff did a while back and make a removable sticker board that's not yet painted. Debating if I should do a gloss black or matte on it..

Well... I was going to use this for a tomorrow post but since we got evening thunderstorms I couldn't detail the car before my cruise of Bavaria in the morning. So in the meantime I just did a quick once over of the engine bay. Never used it before and have heard mixed reviews of Chemical Guys products but this VRP works great! Just as good as Mothers Back to Black. I know its not seen much and will inevitably get dirty but, something about a clean and sparkling engine bay looking so fresh just makes me smile.

Finished my own custom front big brake kit using bolt-on 300mm SVT Focus rotors paired with 986 Boxster 4-pot calipers on a bracket I made. Tested them out at a trackday last week and they made a big difference over the fading stock brakes + pads. Paired up with SVT rear brackets and 280mm rotors

Wheels are 16x8 ET42 Dekagrams - they fit just right without spacers.

More detailed writeup about the process here:
