Had my front and rear in-car cameras installed today by a reliable company in Burbank. Very unobtrusive hidden behind my rear view mirror and the other on my hatch window. Took 2hrs as I got the hard wired version.

Went to replace the bushing for my AWR RMM, Sucker was seized on there and stripped out when I tried to remove it. Had to take it to a local shop who welded a bolt to get it out for me. Not sure what the heck the previous shop did when I had the motor replaced, but this thing was not coming out under normal means. (Though, it could be bent since I'm pushing a lot of power and am quite hard on the car for autocross)

Replaced the hardware with the Whoosh anodized bolts.

I had taken a prior vehicle to get an alignment after tie-rod replacement. Took way longer than normal. Service manager eventually came back and said an adjustment bolt was seized. Made no sense, since this was brand new hardware. (should've been able to tell that) Got it back and sure enough, they had chewed up a brand new lock nut and tie-rod end. Looking at the nut, it was easy to deduce that the mechanic doing the alignment was turning it the wrong way.

Hope they paid for the replacement parts with no labour costs!

Lmao that's me, hi!

As for what I did to my FiST today - I swapped my gauge cluster.

Went from a bog standard USDM Imperial gauge cluster to...

A Canadian gauge cluster in metric! Like how I love in my cars. Another upside is that now after the battery is disconnected the cluster doesn't revert to Imperial.

It needed some reprogramming in Forscan as it came out of a 2016 with Recaros. Initially I was getting DTCs for the heated seats and mirrors (Which obviously weren't there and my car doesn't have the Recaros). Also it wasn't starting.

After writing both the IPC configuration and IPC as built data the Bean calmed down and accepted the keys without throwing an immobiliser fault. Engine started.

Downside is my odometer jumped 2,000 km lol. But I can live with that.

Edit: I forgot to mention I changed the speedo calibration as well to ensure the speedo was accurate. Otherwise I imagine it would've tried to display MPH even though the markings on it are now in km/h

Today I did my motor mounts (I had all the symptoms - shaking at cold starts, excessive vibrations, clunking while low RPM shifting, the full set. Got the parts a week ago at a Ford dealer at a discount - felt more worth it than getting one singular Vibratechnics.

Every single one of these was a bitch to change. The bolts were in there hard and didn't want to let go. One of the battery tray bolts even snapped off due to rust (Rescued this car from South Carolina).

One of my sockets and its adapter snapped clean off while doing the RMM. This went on until 10:30 PM and I started at 6. I loved working on the car regardless. And now I know for the next time that the bolts won't be in there with the strength of Jesus.

As for the old mounts... Completely shot, floppy. They were the factory mounts (FoMoCo markings, 2018 stamped in one). This one-owner car was treated like the average Fiesta. But I guess that's good for reliability to a degree. Didn't take it for a test drive because I didn't finish picking up my shit until 12 AM. But the back and forth flipping the car around since my condo doesn't allow back in parking told me the whole story - this car is changed. I'll figure out the rest in the commute to work but wow, if I loved the car before with shot engine mounts imagine now.

I agree. Even with some minor (but annoying) setbacks, it's worth doing it yourself.

Get an AGM battery and never look back. (search forum for options)

How many miles on the odometer? Probably only needed the adapter because a socket failed, but 3/8 socket to 1/2 drive adapters are prone to snap if aren't careful. Best to avoid the smaller-to-bigger drive adapters anytime you're dealing with significant torque. It'll be better to just buy the appropriate socket set. Unfortunately the cheap ones snap too though typically not quite as easily as the adapters.

I'll check batteries soon - I'm running a legit Motorcraft lead acid battery made in 2021 the car came with. I even killed it once while replacing my window switches. Had a battery tender to bring it back to life in an hour and then let the alternator do the rest (This was on a timer too, as I had an Overnight shift at work that day).

As for the car's age - odometer reading as just a little ago was 124,733 km... But I also switched from the USDM cluster to a Canadian one and my mileage jumped 1,700 km because the new cluster had slightly more miles than mine. Realistically it has something like 122,800 km or 75-76k miles now. Even if it reads 77.

My second Fiesta ST too - and my third Fiesta overall.

I honestly feel like I barely know what I'm doing and just wing it with whatever I snagged at Harbor Freight this week. Sometimes I score big like with this jack I just bought and used today on the mount install - other times I get duds like the socket set and the included adapter.
