Today I did my motor mounts (I had all the symptoms - shaking at cold starts, excessive vibrations, clunking while low RPM shifting, the full set. Got the parts a week ago at a Ford dealer at a discount - felt more worth it than getting one singular Vibratechnics.
Every single one of these was a bitch to change. The bolts were in there hard and didn't want to let go. One of the battery tray bolts even snapped off due to rust (Rescued this car from South Carolina).
One of my sockets and its adapter snapped clean off while doing the RMM. This went on until 10:30 PM and I started at 6. I loved working on the car regardless. And now I know for the next time that the bolts won't be in there with the strength of Jesus.
As for the old mounts... Completely shot, floppy. They were the factory mounts (FoMoCo markings, 2018 stamped in one). This one-owner car was treated like the average Fiesta. But I guess that's good for reliability to a degree. Didn't take it for a test drive because I didn't finish picking up my shit until 12 AM. But the back and forth flipping the car around since my condo doesn't allow back in parking told me the whole story - this car is changed. I'll figure out the rest in the commute to work but wow, if I loved the car before with shot engine mounts imagine now.
